Final Fantasy VII
My rating: 11
Yes, this is a scale from 0 to 10, and yes, I meant to type 11. That is just how good this game is. There is nothing, absolutely nothing that I didn't like about this game. The cartoonicity of the characters was really cool, and the characters themselves had their own personalities and their own stories behind them. The materia system allowed for a lot of customization of characters, which I liked a lot when I first played, because I had been playing RPGs where each character has his or her set abilities and such. The graphics were ahead of its time; they were just amazing for the Playstation in that period. But the thing that got me the most was the story. Final Fantasy VII has the most compelling story of all of the Final Fantasies, and all other games that I have played. I don't want to divulge much, but Cloud's identity crisis and each character's separate story coming into play kept me playing for hours, always wondering what would happen next. And of course, at one point in the game, I literally shed a few tears. It is that good. Everybody should own this game or at least play it once. This is, in my opinion, the best video game of all time.
